Kari

Kari is an initiative to conjoin the soul of culture with the aesthetics of tomorrow by nexus of artistry. From ancient block printing skills to Heritage weaves, Kari works with craftspeople to restore, revive and reinterpret the living culture of textiles in India.​

I conceptualized the brand "Kari” in 2016 as part of my final year project at Srishti School of Art, Design, and Technology. In doing so, I traveled to villages in Andhra Pradesh, India, and worked with local artisans to come up with the current collection. During the graduation exhibition, the products got huge appreciation. Few of the visitors asked where the store was! After initial success in manufacturing and selling the products, I decided to pursue Kari as a business after graduation.
